My only thought is that counseling might help you work through some of the pain. I honestly don't know how you recover from something like that. I mean how each person handles their experience is so different. For me I try to live in the present, not let the past rule my choices or my emotions. Sometimes I am very good at that and sometimes not so much. I think knowing that people learn to molest helps in a way...the people who hurt you have been hurt themselves. somehow knowing that leaves room for forgiveness. But also living a life where you don't pass it on...where you don't hurt others, can be very healing. Someone was telling me hypnosis is an excellent tool to help people learn to let go of the things that haunt them. My post focused on the media side of thing, whether they should pay for stories. But the reality is that this isn't a story, it's people living a shattering nightmare and having to pick up the pieces. I do know that every time a story like this breaks, it brings up the ghosts of horrors past for millions of people. I also know that for so many that it is a nightmare they can never wake up from...no one saves them. I am so sorry for the pain you have been through and my heart goes out to you. I don't think age matters, honestly, in when you learn to deal with the pain you have lived with. Sometimes things are too raw to take on right away and you need some distance to start to process what you have been through. I am 51 now but it doesn't hurt any less. I still have terrible nightmares about it all. Sometimes Death can seem a blessing when you live the nightmare with eyes wide open. I, too have owned my SIM, with my adult business for years, and happen to be next door to a PG sim. Seems that LL screwed up by putting them next door to each other. The fact is, most businesses in SL don't last 6 weeks, much less 6 months or more, be patient, or put up sim divider screens.
